Explore The Wonderful World of Red Worms! Hosted by Enrecos Inc.

Explore the environment that red worms live and work in. These worms recycle organic material by eating your junk mail or food scraps, turning the waste into rich soil amendment that helps create beautiful plants and gardens.

Arts and Crafts

Sunflower Splendor – students will learn and be able to retell information about the life cycle of a sunflower, the many uses of the sunflower seed, and the role of the sunflower in nature. Each child will plant a sunflower seed to cultivate at home.

Every Birdie Welcome – students will learn about attracting and feeding wild birds and the role birds play in the environment. They will create their own bird feeder that can be hung in a garden or yard.

“The Rainforest Café Tropical Bird Show” hosted by Rainforest Café

An interactive educational experience featuring a live bird presentation


12:00pm–1:00pm

“Safari into the Intertidal” hosted by the Dana Point Ocean Institute

Experience the harsh tide-pool habitat and interact with tide pool creatures such as sea stars, urchins, snails, and crabs. Learn how you can help protect the fragile ecosystem.

Create your own Hello Kitty pencil cup and flower pencil! Hosted by Sanrio



2:00pm–2:30pm

“Meet and Greet with Hello Kitty” hosted by Sanrio

Bring your camera to meet and take your picture with Hello Kitty!

“Spring into Blossoms” hosted by the UCCE Master Gardeners

The World is blooming with colorful flowers and your garden should be blooming, too. Make a handy paper pot and plant a beautiful flower to take home and add to your garden.

Backyard Bees: Keeping Hives Alive!

The Backyard Bees ladies are busy as bees! Hear how two local women began rescuing honeybees from chemical extermination while creating a sustainable bee rescue and honey business. Children will learn all about:
• The importance of honeybees in our food systems
• Inside the hive
• Beekeeping basics
• Fascinating honey facts


2:00pm–3:00pm

“The World Blooms In Flowers” hosted by the UCCE Master Gardeners

Learn how to plant and cultivate flowers and create sustainable “green” containers to enjoy at home. This “make and take” activity will allow you to enjoy your flowers all year long.


3:00pm–4:00pm

“Buggin Out” with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

Experience a close encounter with the incredible creatures we call “bugs”.
